Useful Class Information

The children have the opportunity to participate in a weekly P.E. lesson and a weekly Forest School session. We ask you to ensure the children have an old, waterproof coat for the Forest School session, thank you. Please provide a pair of wellies for use at all times as we use the outdoors on a regular basis and are essential for Forest School sessions. The children also have the opportunity to participate within a weekly music session and a weekly cooking session too.

For this half term:-
Tuesday - Cooking
Wednesday - Music
Thursday - P.E.
Friday - Forest School

Library time - children will visit the library as and when they return their book to school. We will aim to change it on the same day it returned.

These days will change every half term to give all children an opportunity to access these sessions.

Do we offer funded places for Nursery and Pre-School?
Yes we do.

Subject to your eligibility for Government Funding, from September 2025, we can offer you up to 30 hours per week to cover the cost of Nursery or Pre-School Fees, and in some cases Wraparound costs.

To find out if you are eligible for Government Funding, please click the Am I Eligible For Funded Hours button below
Am I eligible for funded hours?

Each year, we will provide you with a Parent Declaration form for you to complete. On the form, you will provide us with details of your eligibility code.  Without the code we will not be able to claim your funding, and we will need to charge you for your Nursery/Pre-School fees.

Our funding is offered over a 38 week period.

For as long as you are claiming funding, in order to receive your funding each term, you will need to ensure that your code is valid on each of these key dates every year:-
31st August
31st December
31st March
If you miss renewing your code even by just one day, your code will not be valid for the following term and you will not be able to claim anything above the 15 hours Universal Funding that is awarded to all 3+ year olds.
When can my child start?
Children can start at our Nursery in the term after their 2nd birthday. We do accept new children into Nursery and Pre-School at the start of each term, subject to availability. We encourage parents/carers to complete an application form following a visit to secure a place as soon as possible.

Can I use Childcare Vouchers and/or Government Gateway Vouchers?
Yes you can. We accept Childcare Vouchers and Government Tax Free Gateway Payments as payment for Nursery and Pre-School fees. You can also pay any top-up this way if a percentage is paid using funding. Any outstanding balance is invoiced by us, payable within 30 days, unless instalments are agreed. Payment can be made by BACS, vouchers or using the Government scheme.

? ? ?  Frequently Asked Questions ? ? ?
My child is not potty trained as yet, is this a problem?
No. All we ask is that you supply nappies, wet wipes, cream (if required) and a change of clothes.
When my child turns 3, will they be moved from Nursery to Pre-School?
Children are in Nursery from the age of 2 and stay there for the academic year. This means that from September they move to Pre-School and are in their year group/cohort.
I am anxious leaving my child on their first day. Can I stay?
All children are different and you know your child best. If you wish to stay to help settle your child in, you are more than welcome to do so. Our experienced team will work with you offering advice and support.
Can I change the hours or days for my child to attend?
Yes, but we do require a minimum of a half term's notice and the change, subject to availability, will take place at the start of the following term. This applies to the Nursery and Pre-School core sessions 9am-3pm. The change of hours can be found towards the bottom of this page. For wraparound care you can book ad-hoc sessions and this is done via Parent Pay and bookings need to be made by 9.30am on the day for after school care or the previous day for breakfast club.
If my child attends your Nursery and Pre-School, can they be guaranteed a place in Reception for their school place?
School admissions is administered by the local authority and specific criteria applies regarding the allocation of school places.
I am not eligible for funding and therefore how do I pay for Nursery and Pre-School sessions?
Invoices are raised at the beginning of each term and sent to you by email. The balance is payable within 30 days of the invoice date. You can pay via Parent Pay, which is a BACS payment, by childcare vouchers or the Government tax-free scheme. If you wish to pay in instalments this needs to be agreed on receipt of the invoice.
