Health and Safety Adviser's Visit
The Health and Safety Adviser for Worcestershire County Council came to review the school's parking procedures and has recognised the high quality of the arrangements put in place by the school. Recommendations: None to report as the whole system is the best I have ever seen. Staff involvement is to be highly recommended as is the onsite daily road safety awareness via the crossing point. |
Drop-off at the Start of the Day
The playground will be monitored from 8.30am until the bell rings at 8.45am. This will allow children to be ‘dropped-off’ and for parents to get off to work, shopping, back home etc. To enable this to happen parents with children in Year 1 to Year 6 will be asked to ‘drop their children off’ in the on-site drop-off zone, so that children can walk along the footpaths and up to the school playground. This will help to build your child’s independence as they get older. The Site Manager will be present to help ensure children walk safely up onto the playground. Parents won't generally come onto the playground at this time. We need your help in ensuring that traffic can flow on and off site as efficiently as possible, so parking in these bays will not be allowed at the start of the day. We ask that cars pull in parallel to the kerb and that children exit cars onto the footpath. If you need to come into school at the start of the day to see a teacher or office staff please firstly use the staff car park and then the bays on the right hand side as you enter the school. So that we don't lose that valuable and informal contact at the beginning and end of the day for our youngest children, Parents with children in Nursery or Reception, will be able to park on the ‘lower playground’ providing they display their parking permit which is issued by the School Office. Parents with children in these classes will be able to walk their children up to their child's outdoor classroom, which will be their main entrance and exit from school. Please note that the lower playground has no parking spaces marked, so we need people to park carefully and responsibly to avoid obstructions. The gates on this playground will be locked by the site manager at 9.05am. We therefore need all parents to have vacated the site before this time. |
Collection at the End of the School Day
Parents will inevitably need to park in order to collect their children, and if applicable to see their child’s teacher, therefore careful and responsible parking on both the ‘drop-off’ zone and the lower playground will be needed. Please drive responsibly and with respect. Children's safety is the most important thing. |
