Friday 14th March Some very sleepy eyes when woken this morning after what has been a wonderfully active week. They are all packed and have left for the slate museum. Well done everyone. A big thank you to all the staff at Llanrug who have provided a fantastic week of memories and experiences. Of course a huge thank you to all our staff - Mrs Barley, Mrs Hall and Mrs Busby who have been with the children every step of the way. Without them it would not have been possible. We will put an ETA on the website as soon as we know. Current indications are for a return between 3.00pm and 3.30pm.
Thursday 13th March - pm What a fantastic day with absolutely fabulous weather. First gorge walking with stunning views. Next, walking through amazing waterfalls, then brilliant rock slides into a plunge pool and then, finally, walking through the 'Elephant's Bum'!!!! I am sure the children will explain. On our return, a real treat - Roast Pork dinner followed by a luxurious chocolate gateaux. Delicious.
Your children have been absolutely amazing, so well behaved and supportive of each other, really working as a team, and most importantly the best ever at bedtimes.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
Thursday 13th March - am Another good night's sleep for everyone. Awoke to misty scenes and a blanketed quietness and calm. Sunshine forecast for later. I wonder what this day will bring? The last full day of activity ....
Wednesday 12th March - pm A super day sea cliff traversing, crossing water inlets on ropes, followed by time on the beach where virtually everyone chose to go into the sea with their wetsuits on. Great fun! The perfect sea-side break! This evening involved orienteering by the lake with super map-reading skills. ALL are superstars! Back to the centre to chill out and ready for another good night's sleep.
Wednesday 12th March - am A chilled out evening playing pool and table tennis. All very relaxing. Lights out at 9.45pm and no-one had stirred by 7.00am. Must have been all that fresh air! More challenges and excitement today...
Tuesday 11th March - pm A fantastic day - canoeing on the lake, making campfires and cooking pancakes. The staff nearly capsized, but the children were brilliant. The weather has been glorious and... "The children have been amazing" - Mrs Hall.
Teamwork, learning new skills, lots of fun and enjoyment.
This evening's entertainment has been chosen by the children:- A pool and table tennis tournament.
Quote of the day:-
"Just look at that, it's beautiful. It's just like a painting!"
Tuesday 11th March - am Under the clear, starlit skies of Wales children embarked on an evening stroll through the local countryside. Great concern was shown for the local wildlife and numerous frogs and toads were rescued from the lane to prevent them from being squashed. All asleep by 10.30pm! (The children, not the frogs) It must be something in the air. The girls' dormitories were woken at 7.20am! A new day beckons...
Monday 10th March 2014 Everyone has arrived safely after a good journey and full of enthusiasm for an exciting week. The weather is great and the views fantastic. Children are all making their beds (yes it may be hard to believe - but a valuable life skill they will be able to transfer into the home environment!). They will then be doing some site orientation and induction before having their evening meal. An evening activity is already planned!!!
