Ian has been a school Governor for 30 years in primary, high school and academy establishments.  
He chaired a primary school for 6 years and was Chair of the Personnel Committee for 16 years at a high school/academy.
He is an approved Governor Mark assessor and carries out External Reviews of Governance.  
He was also permanent clerk to 3 Governing Bodies for 2 years, and still provides ‘stand in’ clerking services as and when required.
He is a school governance consultant.  He provides training & mentoring to Governors and Governing Boards on behalf of a number of LA’s and private educational organisations both in a classroom environment and online via webinars etc.
He also sat on the NGA Trustee Board
Away from education he is a leading Business Coach and Keynote Speaker.
